PEF a decade after

For almost a decade, the Peace Equity Access for Community Empowerment Foundation (or Peace and Equity Foundation or PEF) has been the steward of a civil-society endowment fund that has helped thousands of poor families nationwide.

Recently PEF adopted a new strategic focus to enable rural households to earn better incomes through social enterprises, in the hope of developing a wider entrepreneurial base in the country’s poorest areas.

To mark its 10th anniversary this year, PEF will elaborate on its new thrust by holding a Social Enterprise Conference on 20-21 October 2011. It is partnering with the Philippine Business for Social Progress, Pinoy ME Foundation, League of Corporate Foundations and Management Association of the Philippines to present best practices and replicable social enterprise models that are development focused, business oriented, market driven and modeled as efficient value chains. One of the conference highlights will be the launching of a Social Enterprise Fund that plans to invest in high-impact, sustainable ventures.
