10 years, over 1 million dreams realized

Clean water for cooking. Light to do homework by. Capital to start a banana cue business. A tourism service run by the local community. These are just some of the hopes made real through funding from the Peace and Equity Foundation (PEF) Endowment Fund.

In 2001, PEF was set up to administer a 1.3 Billion fund raised by the Caucus of Development NGO Networks (CODE-NGO). Since then, it has channeled 1.06 billion in income to 1,215 different projects run by NGO’s, people’s organizations and communities.

The money has fueled projects ranging from basic services like potable water and renewable energy in off-the-grid areas, livelihood and employment, relief assistance, social capital and microfinance.

The money has benefited over 320,000 households in the country’s poorest communities, or over 1.5 million Filipinos.

Of the total fund, nearly 40% (around 404 million) went to Mindanao, bringing electricity, farm aid and health services; some of the basic prerequisites to peace in the region.

Today, the 1.3 Billion endowment fund has grown to over 1.5 Billion. In the coming years, imagine how many more projects it can fuel, and how many more dreams it can make real.
