PEF 2008 Financial Reports now ONLINE The reports comprise the statements of assets, liabilities and fund balances as at December 31,2008 and 2007, and the revenues and expenses statements, statements of changes in fund balances and cash flow statements for the years then ended, and notes to financial statements comprising of a summary of significant accounting policies and other explanatory notes. The documents can be downloaded in the Downloads section. |

approved projects from jan-jun 2009 The consolidated list of PEF approved projects for the first half of year 2009 is now available. Categorized under various development thrusts and coming from all over the country, a total of 29 projects were approved costing about Php 17.1M. The list (in PDF format) can be downloaded here. |

PEF Tulong-Tulong POndo(Y): Our Chance to Help After Typhoon Ondoy hit Metro Manila, a fund drive to gather donations for relief goods for the affected was initiated by the PEF. The effort was called PEF Tulong-Tulong POndo(Y), where staff members donated an hour to a day’s worth of their salary to raise funds. A counterpart contribution from the PEF was also released doubling the donation. A modest collection of clothes and other goods were also given to some households in Sitio Arenda, Taytay, Rizal. |
Social Development Week 2009 Everyone is invited to come to the Social Development Celebration's (SDC) NGO Trade Fair at the TriNoma Activity Center of TriNoma Mall, Quezon City. This development trade fair will run from December 14 to 16, 2009 and will feature products and services from partner NGOs, POs and communities nationwide. |

Social Development Week 2006 With the theme "Kasali Ka, Sumali Ka!," this year's Social Development Week celebrations will be held from November 27 - 30 at the Glorietta Activity Center, Makati City. The theme calls calls for a stronger partnership among non-government organizations (NGOs), people's organizations (POs), government, and the private sector towards promoting development in our country. It is an invitation for everyone to do his or her share in helping build a brighter future for Filipinos. |

New PEF Board Members as of march 2006 By unanimous decision, the PEF General Assembly during its meeting held last March 23, 2006, elected Mr. Moner M. Bajunaid of the Islamic Da'wah Council of the Philippines as regional NGO networks/coalitions representative and Mr. Segfredo O. Buagas of the National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO) as representative of national networks and coalitions to replace Mr. Martiniano L. Magdolot and Mr. Cresente C. PEF Consolidated Report for 2001 - 2004 released The Consolidated Report of the Peace and Equity Foundation spanning the years 2001 to 2004 is now available for download in the Downloads section. The report, which is targetted for public reading, covers activities from PEF´s conception to the end of 2004. It also details PEF's operational strategies and goals as well as a number of interesting case studies based on actual experiences drawn from the Foundation's various interventions in development. |

“Alleviating Poverty” book launched A new book titled “Alleviating Poverty” has recently been published and released by the Foundation. Written by PEF´s former Executive Director, the late Enrico O. Garde, the book presents a visual monograph on microfinance in the Philippines from the perspective of a development worker. The book starts with providing a context of microfinance services in the Philippines. It discusses various microfinance institutions (MFIs) including a typology of MFIs and a profile of “young” and “mature” institutions. The book then discusses MFI impact on poverty while enumerating several MFI characteristics as well as its overall impact on poverty alleviation. It then presents in detail the significant factors for client success. For the synthesis, the book presents several concepts and conclusions on MFI intervention, special problems encountered, and a discussion on the need for sustained MFI services. |

CBMS Development Grant Program Announces 2005 Grant Winners The CBMS Network Coordinating Team in collaboration with UNDP Philippines and the Peace and Equity Foundation (PEF) has awarded a total of P1.75M to 10 organizations from all over the country to finance barangay-based poverty reduction programs which were identified using data gathered through the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS). |

Social Development Week celebrations 2005 The Peace and Equity Foundation (PEF), the Caucus of Development NGO Networks (CODE-NGO) and the Association of Foundations, together with their various partners, is now holding the Social Development Week Celebrations (SDW) which started last December 12 at the main activity center of the Glorietta Mall in the Central Business District of Makati City. The successes of SDW celebrations for the past two years have encouraged both CODE-NGO and the PEF to consider making this event an annual affair. |
